This May or May Not be about Breastfeeding

In light of the recent TIME magazine brouhaha,
this sentiment also applies to moms who bully other moms.
Your way is not necessarily the only way.
Step off of your imaginary soapbox and stop judging other people.
Or if you must judge, keep your nasty mouth shut.
Hopefully, your kids won’t grow up to be like you.

I totally agree, and thank you. I’ve been appalled at how much negative feedback these breastfeeding moms are getting just because they’re giving their kids extra nutrition, comfort and security. Good for them for standing up for the biological rights of themselves and their children! It’s sad that Americans see this as something gross or wrong, when humanity would have died out thousands of years ago without it. People need to support these women who are doing right by their kids. There are far worse things that are happening to kids in America everyday.

    • But please understand that this goes both ways. People who choose not to breastfeed (or simply cannot) should not be made to feel like criminals. Every situation is different.

I haven’t seen formula-feeding moms being judged anywhere in regards to the Time article, as it is about attachment parenting. But no, I would never judge a woman who is unable to breastfeed. I feel terrible for women who want to nurse but are unable.
